St. Bernard High School Adopt-A-Student Program

• This school year the Archdiocese saw students withdrawing from our Catholic schools due to the combined pressures of rising costs and the economic downturn.  
• St. Bernard High School continues to receive more requests than is able to fund.
• Our families seek assistance to provide their children with a Catholic school education.  
• St. Bernard High School continues to find new ways to provide more scholarship opportunities.
• Donations to St. Bernard High School’s Adopt-A-Student Program will provide scholarship grants for students in need. 
• Your donations will help shape the lives of numerous students.

The St. Bernard High School Adopt-A-Student Program enables enrollment of qualified students whose families demonstrate financial need.  The SBHS Student community embraces diversity and welcomes students of all religious and cultural backgrounds.

• 25% of our student body receive some level of financial aid.  
• Current annual tuition cost is $6,300.  Actual cost of one year education is $8,750.
• For the 2009-10 school year, SBHS will need to fund tuition awards equalling $100,000.
• For over a decade, 100% of our graduating seniors have been accepted to 2 and 4 colleges.

To kick off the program we will honor our Adopt-A-Student donors at our 1st Annual Adopt-A-Student Report Card Luncheon.  Our goal is to be accountable to our benefactors and highlight the growth their generosity has enabled:

• Assisting students in the development of critical thinking skills that utilize curricular knowledge combined with the Viking Standards for complex problem solving, 
• Guiding students to know, love and serve God, such that we enable them to achieve their God-given potential in a multi-cultural society,
• Offering an education honoring the role of parents as the primary educators of their children.
