Dr. Franca Dell’Olio '86 served on the St. Bernard Advisory Board from 2005-2017, and was Board Co-Chair from 2012-2017.  In 2005 she also joined the faculty at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) and is currently an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership and Administration in the School of Education.  Prior to LMU, Dr. Dell’Olio had a successful K-12 education career in the classroom, and her strong leadership skills ultimately led to her appointment as Principal of Culver City High School.  Dr. Dell’Olio earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Administration and Policy from Pepperdine University.  During her senior year at St. Bernard, Dr. Dell’Olio received two Bernie Awards for Most Spirited and Best/Prettiest Smile.

The Catholic Education Foundation of Los Angeles (CEF) has supported 748 students at St. Bernard over the past 20 years, providing nearly $1.3 million in tuition assistance.  CEF’s mission is to provide tuition assistance to the most financially deserving students attending Catholic elementary and high schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.  Since its founding in 1987, CEF has helped over 162,000 students attend and graduate from Catholic schools with over $175 million dollars in tuition assistance.  CEF’s funding makes a quality Catholic education accessible to students in need because CEF believes that Catholic education can and does change lives.  St. Bernard alumna and current board member, Kathleen Kenworthy Ash '79, the Executive Director of CEF, will accept this honor on behalf of the Catholic Education Foundation.  Mrs. Ash has served as a board member at St. Bernard High School since 2012.
